What Is a Custom Rice Bag?
A custom rice bag is a printed, laminated bag built around one fixed pack weight of rice — typically 1 to 25 lb for retail and up to 50 lb for bulk. Two or three films are bonded together: a printable outer layer (PET or matte MOPP), an optional strength layer (nylon) and a food-grade PE layer inside that heat-seals the bag shut.
What makes a rice bag different from a snack pouch is weight. A 25 lb bag has to survive stacking, pallet wrap and being dropped at the store, so seal width, film gauge and the handle matter more than they do on almost any other food bag. That is why we size every rice bag from the pack weight first, and choose the film second.

How we size a rice bag
- Start from the net weight printed on the bag, in lb or kg
- Add headspace for the seal and for a handle or zipper
- Choose the gusset: stand-up for shelves, side gusset for stacking
- Match the gauge to the weight: heavier packs get thicker film and a wider seal
- Fill a sample with your rice before we print a single bag
50 lb note: we make laminated 50 lb bags to order. For plain bulk sacks, many buyers still use woven polypropylene, which we do not make — we will tell you honestly which suits your channel.

Seals, Leaks, Odor, Color: What We Check Before Rice Bags Ship
Every finished batch goes through our 11-point release check. For rice bags, these six points matter most:

All 11 release checks: size, print color, graphics, lamination, seal edge, appearance, zipper, air-tightness, folding, bag-making and odor. Minor deviations are released only up to 2%, total defects must stay within 5%, and critical air-tightness, seal or zipper defects are zero-tolerance. Our lab also runs material tensile tests. For 20 lb and heavier packs, we recommend a drop test with your filled sample before mass production.

What rice brands, importers and mills ask us most.
What is the MOQ for custom rice bags?
1,000 pcs per design with digital printing and 10,000 pcs per design with gravure. Recyclable structures start at 30,000 pcs and printed roll stock at 100 kg. Production takes 7–15 days after artwork approval.
What material is best for a 25 lb rice bag?
Usually a PET/PE or PET/NY/PE laminate in a heavier gauge, with a wide heat seal and a punched or loop handle. The nylon layer adds puncture and drop strength. We confirm the gauge per spec and recommend a drop test with your filled sample before production.
Can you make vacuum rice bags for export?
Yes. NY/PE and PET/NY/PE vacuum bags are the usual choice for 1–5 kg rice bricks. They hold their shape through long sea transit and are leak-tested in our in-house lab. Tell us your vacuum machine and we will size the bag to it.
Do your rice bags keep weevils out?
A laminated film with an intact heat seal is much harder for pantry insects to get through than a thin single-layer bag, and vacuum packing removes the oxygen they need. A bag cannot kill eggs that are already in the grain, so it works alongside your mill’s cleaning and storage practice, not instead of it.
Do you make woven polypropylene rice sacks?
No. We make laminated flexible bags. We can make laminated 50 lb bags to order, but for plain bulk sacks, woven polypropylene is often the practical choice. Many of our customers use our printed bags for 1–25 lb retail packs alongside woven sacks for bulk.
Can I get free samples and design help?
Yes. Samples are free; you only cover the courier. Our in-house design team prepares die-lines and artwork proofs free of charge, including bilingual layouts for importers.
Do you offer recyclable or eco-friendly rice bags?
Yes: recyclable mono-PE structures and kraft paper laminates, from 30,000 pcs. They trade some barrier for a simpler end-of-life, so we will tell you honestly whether they suit your rice and your shelf life.
Can you print rice bags in kilograms or several languages?
Yes. We size bags for lb or kg pack weights and print whatever panels you supply, from net weight and nutrition facts to country of origin and bilingual text. We ship to the US, Canada, the UK, the EU and Australia and reply to every inquiry within one business day.
