THE SHORT ANSWER
What Counts as a Specialty Packaging Bag?
A standard pouch is a printed laminate with a zipper. A specialty bag changes at least one of three things to fit an unusual product: the material (kraft paper, compostable PLA, mono-PE, foil), the closure (spout, child-resistant zipper, tin-tie, degassing valve) or the shape (die-cut outlines, windows cut to a picture).
Because each of those changes affects how the bag seals, fills and ships, specialty bags are engineered per product rather than picked from a catalog. That is the work our structure engineers and in-house design team do before a single bag is printed.

Holographic & Smell-Proof Foil Bags
Holographic PET laminated to a metallized barrier gives a rainbow-effect shelf presence and an odor-tight bag once it is heat-sealed. Brands use it for edibles, cannabis, cosmetics and novelty snacks — often die-cut to a character or logo.

FAMILY 02
Kraft Paper Bags: Window, Tin-Tie & Spout
Kraft paper gives the natural look; the laminate behind it does the protecting. We print on a MOPP film over the kraft for sharper color, or straight onto the paper for a raw look, then back it with PET, VMPET or foil depending on how much barrier your product needs. Liquid spout pouches add a nylon layer for puncture resistance.

FAMILY 03
Film & Foil Spout Pouches for Liquids
When the product pours, the pouch has to do a bottle’s job. We laminate a clear or printed PET outer to a nylon layer for puncture resistance and a PE sealant, then weld the spout on our automatic spout-welding machine. Oily, acidic or light-sensitive fills get a foil layer instead. Typical fills are drinks, sauces, detergents, hand-soap refills and home-care concentrates — the same refill work we run for cleaning brands in Europe and Australia.

Die-Cut & Child-Resistant Shaped Bags
When the outline is the brand, we cut the pouch to your artwork — a character, a bottle, a leaf — and can add a child-resistant zipper. Our child-resistant zipper bag was third-party tested by SCS to 16 CFR §1700.20 (report SCS240511A01LR) and passed.

Not every combination works — a clear window doesn’t belong on light-sensitive coffee, a recyclable mono-PE bag can’t take a spout. We tell you before you pay for a sample.

What are specialty packaging bags?
Specialty packaging bags are custom flexible bags that change the material, closure or shape of a standard pouch to suit an unusual product — for example film and kraft spout pouches, holographic smell-proof bags and die-cut child-resistant bags.
What is the minimum order for custom specialty bags?
1,000 pcs per design with digital printing and 10,000 pcs per design with gravure printing. PLA and compostable bags start at 30,000 pcs. Production takes 7–15 days after artwork approval.
Can a kraft paper bag keep coffee fresh?
Yes, if it is laminated. A plain kraft bag is not a barrier; laminated to VMPET or foil and fitted with a one-way degassing valve, it protects roasted coffee well. We don’t recommend a clear window on bags for light-sensitive coffee — use it for bread, granola or snacks instead.
What liquids can go in a spout pouch?
Drinks, sauces, detergents, hand-soap refills and home-care concentrates are the usual fills. We start from PET / NY / PE with a welded spout; oily, acidic or light-sensitive products may need a foil layer (PET / AL / NY / PE). Tell us the product and fill volume and we confirm the structure before sampling — then test the sample with your own liquid.
Can you make a spout pouch in kraft paper?
Yes. A kraft spout pouch is usually kraft / PET / NY / PE, with the spout welded on our automatic spout-welding machine. Oily or acidic liquids may need a foil or EVOH barrier. Recyclable mono-PE is not suitable for spouts or liquids.
Are your child-resistant bags tested?
Yes. Our child-resistant zipper bag (PET / PETAL / PE) passed third-party testing by SCS to 16 CFR §1700.20, report No. SCS240511A01LR. The report covers the structure and zipper tested; a different size or shape should be confirmed, and we will tell you when that applies.

Yes. Alongside brands and co-packers, we supply packaging distributors and sourcing agents with plain or custom-printed specialty bags, and we ship to the US, Canada, the UK, the EU and Australia.
